There is no medically established or FDA-approved Epitalon dosage. Online protocols frequently suggest taking 5–10mg per day for 10–20 days, but these quantities have not been validated in large, controlled human trials of synthetic Epitalon.
There is also an important problem with the evidence: the popular 5–10mg dosage appears to have originated from studies of Epithalamin, an animal-derived pineal extract containing numerous peptides. Epitalon is a different substance consisting of only four amino acids.

The two compounds should not be treated as interchangeable.
Epitalon dosage at a glance
- Frequently reported amount: 5–10mg per day
- Commonly reported cycle: 10–20 days
- Reported total per cycle: 50–200mg
- FDA-approved dosage: None
- Established safe human dosage: Unknown
- Established treatment frequency: Unknown
- Best-supported evidence: Laboratory and animal studies
- Important limitation: Many older human studies used Epithalamin, not Epitalon
These reported protocols are provided for context and should not be interpreted as dosing recommendations.
What Is Epitalon?
Epitalon, also spelled Epithalon, is a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of four amino acids:
- Alanine
- Glutamic acid
- Aspartic acid
- Glycine
Its amino-acid sequence is abbreviated as AEDG, which is why Epitalon is sometimes called the AEDG peptide.
Researchers have investigated Epitalon in relation to:
- Telomerase activity
- Telomere length
- Cellular ageing
- Melatonin production
- Circadian rhythms
- Pineal-gland function
- Oxidative stress
- Age-related biological changes
Most evidence comes from cell cultures and animal experiments. These studies can help researchers investigate biological mechanisms, but they cannot establish a safe or effective Epitalon dosage for humans.
What Is the Typical Epitalon Dosage?
The most frequently reported Epitalon dosage protocol is 5–10mg per day for 10–20 consecutive days.
Commonly discussed schedules include:
| Reported daily amount | Reported cycle length | Total amount |
|---|---|---|
| 1mg | 10 days | 10mg |
| 2.5mg | 10 days | 25mg |
| 5mg | 10 days | 50mg |
| 5mg | 20 days | 100mg |
| 10mg | 10 days | 100mg |
| 10mg | 20 days | 200mg |
These protocols circulate through commercial clinics, peptide vendors and longevity communities. They are not FDA-approved or supported by robust dose-ranging trials.
No reliable evidence demonstrates that 10mg works better than 5mg, that 5mg is safer than 10mg, or that either quantity provides a clinical benefit.
Epitalon Dosage Chart
The following chart shows how commonly reported daily quantities relate to different vial sizes.
| Reported amount | 10mg vial | 50mg vial | 100mg vial |
| 1mg | 10 quantities | 50 quantities | 100 quantities |
| 2.5mg | 4 quantities | 20 quantities | 40 quantities |
| 5mg | 2 quantities | 10 quantities | 20 quantities |
| 10mg | 1 quantity | 5 quantities | 10 quantities |
This is an arithmetic reference only. It does not establish an appropriate dose or confirm that a particular product is safe for human use.
Epitalon 5mg Dosage Protocol
Five milligrams per day is one of the most frequently mentioned Epitalon protocols online.
A reported 5mg schedule may involve:
- 5mg once daily
- 10–20 consecutive days
- 50–100mg during the complete cycle
- Repeating the cycle after several months
Despite its popularity, 5mg is not a scientifically established standard dose.
A 2026 review questioned the origin of the 5–10mg convention. It concluded that the quantity appears to have been transferred from studies of Epithalamin rather than being established through clinical trials of synthetic Epitalon.
Epitalon 10mg Dosage Protocol
Another commonly reported protocol uses 10mg per day.
Online descriptions typically involve:
- 10mg once daily
- 10–20 consecutive days
- 100–200mg during a complete cycle
There is no high-quality evidence showing that 10mg produces better sleep, longer telomeres, slower ageing or greater longevity than lower quantities.
Increasing the amount may increase exposure to an inadequately studied substance without delivering additional benefits.
Epitalon 100mg Dosage Calculations
A 100mg vial contains 100mg of Epitalon in total. How long it would theoretically last depends on the amount measured each day.
| Reported daily amount | Theoretical number of quantities | Approximate duration |
| 1mg | 100 | 100 days |
| 2.5mg | 40 | 40 days |
| 5mg | 20 | 20 days |
| 10mg | 10 | 10 days |
This does not mean that a 100mg vial should be used during one treatment cycle. Vial size is a product characteristic—not evidence supporting a particular dosage.
The identity, purity, concentration and sterility of unapproved peptide products may also be uncertain.
How Long Is an Epitalon Cycle?
The most commonly described Epitalon cycle lasts between 10 and 20 days.
Reported schedules include:
- 10 days once per year
- 20 days once per year
- One cycle every six months
- One cycle every four to six months
These schedules are largely based on historical pineal-peptide research and modern commercial practice. Controlled studies have not established:
- The ideal cycle length
- The appropriate interval between cycles
- Whether cycles should be repeated
- Whether continuous use is safe
- The long-term effects of repeated exposure
Using Epitalon cyclically does not eliminate its unknown risks.
Why the Standard Epitalon Dosage May Be Incorrect
The distinction between Epitalon and Epithalamin is essential when evaluating dosage claims.
Epitalon
Epitalon is a synthetic peptide containing four amino acids in the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly.
Epithalamin
Epithalamin is an animal-derived pineal extract containing a mixture of peptides and other biological components.
Older human studies commonly administered Epithalamin in quantities of 5–10mg. These figures were subsequently repeated across websites as an established Epitalon dosage.
However, the biological potency, absorption and composition of the two substances are not equivalent.
A 2026 translational analysis concluded that the widely repeated 5–10mg Epitalon protocol appears to be based on a dosing error. According to the authors, the convention originated from Epithalamin studies rather than clinical trials of Epitalon itself.
This does not establish that a lower or higher Epitalon dosage would be appropriate. It means that the currently promoted protocol lacks a reliable clinical foundation.
What Do Human Studies Tell Us?
High-quality human research on synthetic Epitalon is extremely limited.
A review published by the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation concluded that clinical studies of Epithalon had not been conducted. The human research frequently cited in support of the peptide generally involved Epithalamin.
Reported Epithalamin protocols included:
- 5–10mg per day
- Intramuscular administration
- Courses lasting 10–20 days
- Intranasal quantities of 10–30mg per day
- Repeated courses after four to six months
These findings cannot establish an equivalent Epitalon peptide dosage because the substances are different.
A small observational publication from 2024 described the use of 5mg of Epitalon for 10 consecutive days. However, it was not a large randomised, placebo-controlled trial and cannot determine the optimal dose, effectiveness or long-term safety.
What Does Laboratory Research Show?
A 2025 laboratory study exposed human cell lines to Epitalon concentrations ranging from 0.1 to 1 microgram per millilitre. Researchers reported changes in telomere length under controlled laboratory conditions.
These results do not establish an Epitalon dosage for people.
A concentration applied directly to cultured cells cannot be converted into a human dose without knowing:
- How Epitalon is absorbed
- Its biological half-life
- How it is distributed
- How quickly it is metabolised
- Which tissues it reaches
- Whether it accumulates
- Whether its metabolites are harmful
- Whether repeated exposure is safe
Laboratory changes in telomere length also do not prove that Epitalon slows ageing or improves health outcomes.
Is Epitalon FDA Approved?
Epitalon is not an FDA-approved medication.
In a 2026 briefing document, the FDA concluded that there were no clinical data supporting the safety of Epitalon free base or Epitalon acetate in humans.
The FDA identified uncertainties concerning:
- Peptide-related impurities
- Product characterisation
- Aggregation
- Immunogenicity
- Subcutaneous administration
- Long-term safety
- Potential effects involving telomerase and cancer biology
In July 2026, an FDA advisory committee recommended easing restrictions affecting several peptides, including Epitalon. This was an advisory recommendation, not formal FDA approval.
Even if Epitalon becomes eligible for pharmacy compounding, that would not make it an FDA-approved drug or establish its safety, effectiveness or optimal dosage.
Is There a Safe Epitalon Dosage?
A safe human Epitalon dosage has not been established.
Important unanswered questions include:
- What is the lowest biologically active dose?
- What is the maximum tolerated dose?
- Does Epitalon interact with prescription medication?
- Can it trigger an immune response?
- Does repeated use create cumulative risks?
- Is it safe for people with cancer or a history of cancer?
- Does it affect fertility or pregnancy?
- Are Epitalon acetate and free base equally safe?
- What happens after years of repeated cycles?
Without controlled dose-escalation and long-term follow-up studies, claims that a particular quantity is safe are premature.
Potential Epitalon Side Effects and Risks
Reliable side-effect rates are unavailable because Epitalon has not undergone extensive human clinical testing.
Potential concerns include:
Injection-site reactions
An injectable product may cause redness, pain, swelling, bruising or infection. A worsening reaction, spreading redness, fever or severe pain requires medical assessment.
Allergic or immune reactions
The peptide itself, aggregated material or manufacturing impurities could trigger an unwanted immune response.
Contamination and incorrect labelling
Products sold as research chemicals may contain incorrect quantities, contaminants, endotoxins or substances not declared on the label.
Unknown medication interactions
Epitalon has not been adequately tested alongside prescription medication, supplements, hormones or other peptides.
Telomerase-related uncertainty
Epitalon is studied for its possible effects on telomerase and telomeres. Telomerase is involved in normal cellular maintenance but is also active in many cancer cells.
This does not prove that Epitalon causes cancer. It means that promoting telomerase activity without long-term safety research raises questions that require investigation.
Epitalon Dosage for Sleep
There is no approved Epitalon dosage for insomnia or any other sleep disorder.
Epitalon is promoted for sleep because pineal biology is connected to melatonin and circadian rhythms. However, the available evidence does not establish that administering synthetic Epitalon safely improves human sleep.
There is no validated dosage for:
- Insomnia
- Jet lag
- Shift-work sleep disorder
- Circadian-rhythm disruption
- Age-related sleep changes
- Melatonin deficiency
Persistent sleep problems should be medically assessed because they may be associated with sleep apnoea, mental health conditions, medication effects, pain or other treatable causes.
Epitalon Dosage for Anti-Ageing
No Epitalon dosage has been proven to reverse ageing or extend human lifespan.
Ageing involves many interconnected biological processes, including:
- DNA damage
- Mitochondrial dysfunction
- Cellular senescence
- Metabolic changes
- Chronic inflammation
- Immune-system ageing
- Hormonal changes
- Environmental exposure
Changing telomere length in cultured cells does not demonstrate that a compound improves longevity, reduces disease or extends human life.
A credible anti-ageing treatment would need to produce meaningful clinical outcomes in controlled human trials—not merely alter a laboratory biomarker.
Frequently Asked Questions About Epitalon Dosage
What is the recommended Epitalon dosage?
There is no medically established or FDA-approved Epitalon dosage. Online protocols commonly mention 5–10mg per day, but those quantities have not been properly validated in human trials.
What is the most common Epitalon dosage per day?
Five to 10mg per day is the most frequently reported range. It appears to have been extrapolated partly from research involving Epithalamin, a different pineal extract.
How long is a typical Epitalon cycle?
Online protocols usually describe 10–20 consecutive days. There is no clinical evidence establishing the ideal cycle length.
How much Epitalon is used during one cycle?
Commonly promoted cycles contain between 50mg and 200mg in total. These quantities are not FDA-approved treatment recommendations.
How long does a 100mg Epitalon vial last?
Mathematically, a 100mg vial contains twenty 5mg quantities or ten 10mg quantities. This arithmetic does not establish an appropriate daily amount.
Is 5mg a standard Epitalon dosage?
No. Five milligrams is frequently promoted, but it is not an approved standard. Researchers have questioned whether this quantity was incorrectly transferred from Epithalamin studies.
Is 10mg of Epitalon too much?
There are insufficient human dose-ranging data to define an appropriate, excessive or maximum safe quantity.
Can Epitalon be used every day?
Continuous daily use has not been adequately studied. Commercial protocols usually describe short cycles, but the safety of these cycles is also unconfirmed.
How often can an Epitalon cycle be repeated?
Some sources suggest repeating a cycle every four to six months. This interval has not been validated through controlled clinical research.
Is Epitalon injected subcutaneously?
Many online protocols describe subcutaneous administration. The FDA says it lacks adequate human safety data for this route and has highlighted possible concerns involving immune reactions, aggregation and impurities.
Are Epitalon and Epithalamin the same?
No. Epitalon is a defined four-amino-acid synthetic peptide. Epithalamin is a complex extract derived from animal pineal tissue.
Is Epitalon legal?
Legal and compounding rules vary by location and may change. Epitalon is not an FDA-approved drug in the United States, and products labelled for research use should not be treated as approved medicines.
Epitalon Dosage: The Bottom Line
The most frequently reported Epitalon dosage is 5–10mg per day for 10–20 days, providing a total of approximately 50–200mg per cycle.
However, this is not a medically established protocol.
The evidence currently indicates that:
- Epitalon has no FDA-approved dosage.
- A safe human dose has not been established.
- Human clinical evidence is extremely limited.
- Most supporting research involves cells or animals.
- Several frequently cited human studies used Epithalamin instead.
- The standard 5–10mg protocol may originate from a dosing translation error.
- The safety of repeated cycles remains unknown.
- Long-term immune, metabolic and cancer-related risks require further study.
Epitalon should therefore be described as an investigational peptide rather than a proven anti-ageing or sleep treatment.
